Jean-Michel Meurice, The well-tempered space
"The desire to paint is to put color on a given medium. Nothing else. The colors are notes and I seek a harmony of ensemble "Such is the vision of the painting of Jean-Michel
Meurice. Each work is for him a musical chord composed of all the color tones.
The exhibition Jean-Michel Meurice, L'espace bien temperé, presents this deep sense of space that characterizes his work. The color, like a music, comes to modulate the rooms of the museum to the rhythm
Of a new chromatic unit. The exhibition brings together forty works from the 1970s to the present. The extremely diverse and unexpected formats of the works question the relationship between
Painting and architecture in order to give color its greatest expression in space.
