The European Heritage Days will take place on 16 and 17 September. The programming offered at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is particularly rich and varied. Guided tours on foot or by bike will allow you to discover the treasures of the architecture of Touquet, the secrets of the Town Hall or climb the 274 steps of the Lighthouse. New this year: the heritage garden at the foot of the Phare, brings together associations, booksellers and crafts and heritage. All weekend workshops are also offered.

Garden of the Patrimony

Exhibition, guided tours, demonstrations, youth workshops. Around the Lighthouse of the Canche, multiple stands will allow you to discover the various facets of the touquettois patrimony.

Guided tour of the Canche Lighthouse
A true 57m high architectural jewel designed by Louis Quételart in 1947, the lighthouse will make you discover, at the end of its 274 steps, a breathtaking view of the resort and its surroundings. The guide will tell you the story of the two ancient fires through an exhibition in the former house of the lighthouse keeper. Children under 6 years of age are prohibited from climbing, which is not recommended for pregnant women or cardiac patients.

Old Book Restoration Workshop
Craftsman of the crafts, Géraldine Venant-Mouroux shows you his know-how through a demonstration restoration of ancient bindings, cardboard and graphic documents (manuscript papers, engravings, watercolors).
Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm

Archipop, warehouse and manufacture of audiovisual archives
Collect, save and value movies that testify to theactivities, events and everyday life, this is the mission of Archipop which proposes a screening of amateur films shot at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage.
For the young audience, the animation Archijunior is proposed!

Heritage Awareness Workshop Les Petits Butisseurs
Proposed by the Heritage Department, this workshop will allow young people to understand the elements that make up a city. (for 6-10 years).

House of the Press / dedication of François Bruller
La Maison de la Presse offers for sale works dedicated to local heritage.
François Bruller son of the writer Vercors will come to dedicate the book Le petit Louis:childhood memories. The book is full of references and anecdotes of a childhood spent in the station at the beginning of the century.

Opale's memory, history and genealogy of the Opal Coast and hinterland

It is in the heart of the natural park of the Bay of Canche, protected territory of 45 hectares, that a nature guide will make you discover the beach and the formation of its dunes. Born in 1929 by the imagination of architects Pierre Drobecq and Louis Debrouwer, the town hall is appealing for its grandeur. Church of St Joan of Arc

Built on the plans of the architect Lucien Viraut, the church of Saint Joan of Arc is the first church in France devoted to Jeanne
d'Arc, a dedication chosen at the request of British Catholics. Inside, the vast and clear vessel of the nave is surmounted by a
wooden vault in an inverted boat keel.
The windows of the church, works of several workshops of contemporary glass artists tell the stages of the life of Jesus in the choir and in the nave and the transepts the different episodes of the life of Joan of Arc.
In 2008, a new organ, one of the most important in the region, is inaugurated.

• Exhibition Jean-Michel Meurice, the well-tempered space
The exhibition highlights the question of color in the position of painting in architectural space, a characteristic preoccupation of Jean-Michel Meurice's work. The museum presents forty works from the 1970s to the present.The extremely varied formats of the works (paintings, tondo, barrettes, angles, cut shapes) question the relationship between painting and architecture in order to give color its greatest expression in space.
